After today’s tax reform meeting with the White House, Jon Tester owes it to Montanans to let them know whose side he is on.
Jon Tester and seven of his Democrat colleagues met with White House staff today to discuss the Republican tax cut plan. At this meeting, he will have heard of the many benefits of the legislation, including a tax cut of $1,182 for a family of four at the median income, as well as job growth and expansion of the economy. It’s time for Tester to make a decision. Will he join the Republican effort to provide a tax cut to the middle class? Or will he stand with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in their effort to obstruct tax relief?
“Jon Tester must prove that he is actually willing to work on tax relief, not just attend a White House meeting to appease critics,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “If Tester refuses to join Republican efforts to cut taxes for the middle class, it will be clear he is just another Democrat obstructionist.”
