After today’s tax reform meeting with the White House, Claire McCaskill owes it to Missourians to let them know whose side she is on.
Claire McCaskill and seven of her Democrat colleagues met with White House staff today to discuss the Republican tax cut plan. At this meeting, she will have heard of the many benefits of the legislation, including a tax cut of $1,182 for a family of four at the median income, as well as job growth and expansion of the economy. It’s time for McCaskill to make a decision. Will she join the Republican effort to provide a tax cut to the middle class? Or will she stand with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in their effort to obstruct tax relief?
“Claire McCaskill must prove that she is actually willing to work on tax relief, not just attend a White House meeting to appease critics,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “If McCaskill refuses to join Republican efforts to cut taxes for the middle class, it will be clear she is just another Democrat obstructionist.”
