Forbes is reporting that smaller cities are leading the way in job growth, including in northwest Indiana, where the manufacturing sector has driven the Elkhart-Goshen area into the overall top twenty cities for jobs in 2018. So why is Mexico Joe Donnelly’s family business outsourcing their manufacturing to a factory in Mexico?

The most obvious answer is that Mexico Joe’s company only has to pay workers $4.70 per DAY at their Guadalajara factory, instead of the $7.25 per hour minimum wage in Indiana. Considering that Mexico Joe once referred to pay in Mexico as “slave wages,” it’s worth asking how much his family business pays workers at its manufacturing facility across the border.

But good luck getting an answer! We all know that Mexico Joe hates answering questions.
