Bill Nelson’s Supreme Court conundrum will be front and center this week as the Senate Judiciary Committee holds confirmation hearings on Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Nelson, who has yet to take a position on the esteemed jurist and failed to meet with Kavanaugh after saying he would, is in a tough position.
According to a recent poll, a majority of Florida voters want to see Judge Kavanaugh confirmed.
With the midterm election two months away, Nelson can either alienate the radical liberal base he needs to win reelection by confirming the eminently qualified judge or destroy his phony centrist act and obstruct again. Either way, he’s going to upset a major voting bloc he can’t afford to lose.
What will Nelson do? Maybe he’ll conveniently lose his voice again…
