Washington, D.C. – Last year, elected officials in Seattle caved to Democrats’ cries to “defund the police.” They slashed the police department’s budget by a whopping 18%!
Now, crime is surging in Seattle, and around the country. And the Seattle mayor is walking back her previous misguided, rash actions against the police which led 250 police officers to leave the department.
Oh, what a difference a year makes. Where is Patty Murray?
Statement from NRSC Spokesperson Lizzie Litzow: “Where is Patty Murray as crime and violence rages in her home state? Just last year, as Democrats rallied around the country to ‘defund the police,’ the mayor of the largest city in her state followed their lead and slashed police funding. But now, crime is surging, and Murray is nowhere to be found. It’s clear that she’s more concerned with Democrats’ radical Washington agenda than she is with the well-being of the citizens of her state.”
