As the Senate continues hearings on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, Arizonans are still searching to see where Kyrsten Sinema stands.

Since Kavanaugh’s nomination, Sinema has gone MIA, refusing to give Arizonans a straight answer on how she’d vote if she was elected to the U.S. Senate.

The Arizona Republic’s Editorial Board blasted Sinema for offering only “vague answers to questions about key issues that are sure to arise in the Senate, such as how she’d vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.” And others, including NBC’s Vaughn Hillyard have complained Sinema can only seem to muster “a long response–but no answer” on how she’d vote.

Sinema’s sudden silence is shocking, but it’s made all the more suspicious by how gleefully she spoke out in favor of President Obama’s nominee to the Supreme Court back in 2009. Back then, Sinema was all too happy to pen a full op-ed for the Arizona Republic calling for Sotomayor’s confirmation and took to her personal blog to call on Republicans to swiftly confirm the liberal justice.

Sinema may want to keep mum to avoid dredging up new questions about her radical record, but it’s time for Sinema to speak up and tell voters where she stands.
