Across the country bad news continues to roll in on Obamacare. Insurance premiums continue to rise, putting affordable health care out of reach for Americans, and options are dwindling as insurers continue to flee the marketplace at an alarming rate. But Democrats have continued to play politics, bizarrely attempting to blame Republicans for Obamacare’s failings and vowing to block efforts aimed at repairing the damage caused by the failed law.
- A report last month showed that individual market premiums under Obamacare have increased by an average of 105% between 2013 and 2017.
- More than 1 million Americans lost their health care plans in January as insurers across the country fled the market.
- Insurers are continuing to exit the Obamacare markets as they announce plans for 2018, leaving residents of at least 47 counties with no health insurance options, and as many as 1,200 counties with just a single insurer.
“Across the country, health care premiums are soaring as options dwindle, but Democrats continue to play politics,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Obamacare has failed in its stated goal of making affordable health care available to American families, and it’s clear Senate Dems do not want to work to fix the failed law they forced on the country.”
