Workers across North Carolina have a lot to celebrate this Labor Day thanks to President Trump’s Working Family Tax Cuts.
While failed Governor Roy Cooper opposed the most pro-worker legislation in history, Michael Whatley has committed to fighting for policies that lower taxes, protect American jobs, and increase wages.
Whatley knows President Trump’s Working Family Tax Cuts are a blue collar boom for North Carolina that:
- Increases take-home pay by up to over $10,000.
- Increases wages by up to $6,400.
- Delivers support for small businesses.
- Delivers no taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security.
- About 1.9 million seniors in North Carolina could benefit from no taxes on social security.
- Around 25% of North Carolina workers regularly work overtime and around 62% of workers are in occupations that are eligible for overtime.
- Makes historic investments in rural healthcare.
“If Roy Cooper had it his way, North Carolina would be hit with the largest middle-class tax hike in history and workers would keep less of their hard-earned money,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “But Michael Whatley stands with President Trump and his work to protect North Carolina jobs and lower taxes for working families across the state.”
