Unlike Senator Russ Feingold, Tammy Baldwin is set to announce her support for Hillary Clinton today in Washington.
Yet, unlike Senator Feingold, Baldwin was never chastised by Hillary Clinton for failing to live in the real world:
Sens. Russ Feingold and Hillary Clinton got into in a heated argument over the impact of Feingold’s campaign finance reform legislation on Senate Democrats, Feingold said…"’You’re not living in the real world,"’ Clinton screamed at him, according to Feingold…
What a telling contrast to Feingold’s past support for Bernie Sanders.
Progressives United PAC – which was exposed as a mere slush fund to pad Senator Feingold’s own pocket books, still refers to Bernie Sanders as one of its five "champions."
Further, in a rare disbursement that did not directly benefit Feingold or his former staffers, Progressives United PAC contributed $6,000 to Sanders.
Given the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s report on Progressives United – in which it was revealed that the PAC contributed "a mere 5% of its income to federal candidates and political parties," any dollar that Feingold decided not to pocket for himself is noteworthy.
As one of the only senators to vote against the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, we’ve already seen the lengths to which Senator Feingold has gone to stand alone.
Will Feingold do so again as the first senator to endorse Bernie Sanders?
