Heidi Heitkamp is back to spreading her myth of putting North Dakotans first saying in an interview last night, “I only play one side and that is the people of North Dakota. That’s the side I’m on.”
Yet the facts tell a much different story. Heitkamp has voted with DC liberals 83% of the time, and on the issues most important to North Dakotans, Heitkamp has abandoned them in favor of her Democratic bosses. She voted to deny middle-class families the tax cuts they deserve, voted to keep Obamacare in place, refused to crack down on sanctuary cities, voted against a 5-month abortion ban and was the deciding vote to keep the harmful BLM flaring rule in place.
“Heidi Heitkamp’s not fooling anyone with her misleading rhetoric,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Her record shows the only side she’s on is that of Washington liberals, and when it matters most Heitkamp has failed to support the interests of North Dakota voters.”
