Washington, D.C. – Last night, Joe Biden sat down for a rare interview with the media, and it was a disaster. Biden said that Americans need to put record inflation “in perspective” and said the economy is growing. The truth? The economy has shrunk for the last 2 quarters in a row.

Other than his outrageous claims about the economy, Biden said the U.S. would send troops to Taiwan if China invaded, only to have the White House immediately walk it back – again. He also declared the COVID pandemic is over even though his administration is asking for more money to fight the pandemic.

All around, Biden’s interview was total mess. This must be why vulnerable Senate Democrats are avoiding Biden like the plague – even though they still vote with him over 94% of the time.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman Jonathan Turcotte: “Every vulnerable Senate Democrat – including Michael Bennet, Catherine Cortez Masto, Maggie Hassan, Mark Kelly, Patty Murray and Raphael Warnock –   should tell voters where they stand on Joe Biden’s ridiculous comments. Do they agree that record inflation needs to be put in perspective? Hard-working Americans who can’t afford gas and groceries surely don’t agree. These kinds of blatantly false and ignorant statements from Joe Biden are only possible because he knows that no vulnerable Senate Democrat has the guts to stand up to him.”
