WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators are sounding the alarm on Abdul El-Sayed’s victory in Michigan’s Democrat primary and emphasizing the critical need to defeat him in November.
What they are saying:
NRSC Chairman Tim Scott (R-SC): “El-Sayed is the most radical Democrat Senate nominee ever. His support of terrorist organizations, socialist policies, and the defunding of law enforcement makes him dangerous and ultimately disqualified from serving. Michigan has had two Democrat Senators for decades, so we cannot take anything for granted, but we will do everything we can to make sure El-Sayed never steps foot in the U.S. Senate.”
Senator Katie Britt (R-AL): “He is actually a jihadist sympathizer. We saw him just two days ago, El-Sayed, at a pool party with Hasan Piker who said that America deserved 9/11. These are not people who stand with us and for our values, and they’re infiltrating from within.”
Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR): “Abdul El-Sayed has called to defund ICE. Sayed said he doesn’t care about illegal aliens’ “documentation status.” This type of liberal madness would mean open borders and would make your community less safe. The Democratic party has lost its mind.”
“Senate Democrats are “excited” for Abdul El-Sayed who proudly campaigns with extremists who say America deserved 9/11. The Islamic-Marxists truly are taking over the Democratic party. We must never give them power.”
Senator Todd Young (R-IN): “Democrats have embraced socialism. Republicans must fight back. Keep working @MikeRogersForMI. We can’t let socialism make its way to the Midwest’s doorstep.”
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL): “Democrats aren’t stopping with their radical socialist agenda in Michigan. They’re coming for every state in the country.”
“Abdul El-Sayed taking money from a group allegedly linked to Hamas’ hate-fueled, antisemitic terrorism should be disqualifying. Instead, Democrats are embracing him as their nominee.”
Senator Jim Banks (R-IN): “He would be the most extreme Democrat radical U.S. Senator that we’ve ever had. He would make Bernie Sanders look squishy… his rhetoric is dangerous, his policies, his positions are extreme and dangerous.”
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX): “Abdul El-Sayed, the son in law of a leading member of several [Muslim] Brotherhood groups, won Michigan’s Democrat primary for U.S. Senate…”
“This is someone, El-Sayed, who campaigned alongside Hasan Piker, a radical, America-hating leftist who said, among other things, ‘America deserved 9/11.’ That is grotesque, and you do not see any Democrat, other than John Fetterman, willing to condemn that America-hating Islamist.”
Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL): “Michigan Democrats just voted to send a TERRORIST to the Senate. Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is a RADICAL ISLAMIST who will do everything he can to destroy America.”
Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO): “El-Sayed told us what he wants to do: Abolish ICE and abolish the police. El-Sayed may have wiped old social media posts but he’s called for the end of law enforcement. After an Islamic terrorist attack in Michigan, his response was ‘hurt people hurt people.’ He’s made excuses for terrorists’ ‘pain and frustration.’ He’s campaigned with people who believe 9/11 was justified.”
“From deleting posts that show his true colors, to extreme foreign policy and family associations with groups federal prosecutors linked to terrorist organizations: El-Sayed’s record is clear. Michigan, and America, deserve better.”
Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA): “Abdul El-Sayed is the most radical nominee Michigan Democrats have ever put on a ballot… terrorist sympathizer… called for defunding the police and abolishing ICE… campaigned with Hasan Piker, who said America had 9/11 coming and wouldn’t disavow him. Michigan deserves better. And I’m going to do everything I can to help Mike Rogers win.”
