This year, Senator Cornyn:
- Helped pass President Trump’s historic Working Family Tax Cuts, delivering monumental tax relief for Texas families and businesses — while including:
- Provisions of his Feral Swine Eradication Act to provide $105 million to the Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program.
- Provisions to reduce burdensome taxes on certain firearms and silencers to $0.
- Voted to confirm 100% of President Trump’s nominees.
- Founded the Senate DOGE Caucus, leading the fight to rein in wasteful Washington spending and bureaucracy.
- Championed nationwide concealed carry reciprocity as chief sponsor of the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act — an idea President Trump endorsed in November 2024 and would allow concealed carry licenses in one state to apply to other states that also allow it.
- Worked with President Trump to secure $11 billion to pay Texas back for doing Biden’s job to secure the border.
- Strengthened border security by authoring a key amendment to the Laken Riley Act — President Trump’s first law of his second term — requiring detention of illegal migrants who assault law enforcement officers.
- Stood up for Texas farmers and ranchers by working with President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins to force Mexico to comply with its water delivery obligations under the 1944 Water Treaty.
- Passed the Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge Act, which President Trump signed into law to codify his Executive Order renaming the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge near Houston to the Jocelyn Nungaray National Refuge. Jocelyn Nungaray was a 12-year-old girl taken far too soon at the hands of brutal killers who were in the U.S. illegally due to Biden’s open-border policies.
- Protected America from foreign adversaries by passing the Comprehensive Outbound Investment National Security (COINS) Act, signed into law by President Trump to counter threats from China, Russia, and Iran.
- Safeguarded U.S. agriculture and food security by passing the SWARM Act, which President Trump signed into law to require the USDA to present details to Congress on how it plans to combat the New World screwworm.
