Data reporters and pollsters alike are reminding Democrats that, since 1998, polls have had a terrible habit of overestimating Democrats by wider margins in red states than in blue states.
According to The Economist’s Owen Winter, “If polling errors follow the average historic trend, Democrats’ leads in Texas and Alaska could be wiped out while Iowa and Kansas move firmly into the Republican column.”
“The polling industry is blowing the whistle on its own negligence and track record of misses in Senate races. Senate Republicans remain focused on exposing Democrats’ dangerous, unaffordable agenda while racking up historic victories that have helped level the playing field on spending and put Chuck Schumer on defense,” said NRSC National Press Secretary Bernadette Breslin.
