WASHINGTON – Today the NRSC announced that Senator Lindsey Graham will lead the Republican effort to counter Democrats’ money machine. The NRSC has partnered with nominee funds in West Virginia, Ohio, and Montana to ensure the nominee in each state will have a war chest at the ready as soon as they win their primary.

Senator Lindsey Graham said, “We will not be able to take back the Senate if our candidates get swamped by the Democrats’ money machine again. That’s why I’m proud to be leading the Republican effort to fight back.”

The nominee funds will be housed at Senate24.com.

Graham continued, “If every Republican voter chips in five or ten bucks to Senate24.com, our nominees in top battleground races will have the resources they need to fight back against the Democrats as soon as they win their primary.”

Background:

  • Republicans have been greatly outspent at the candidate-level going back to 2018.
  • These nominee funds are designed to steer dollars directly into the eventual GOP Senate nominees’ campaigns in Ohio, Montana, and West Virginia, regardless of who the nominee is.
  • These funds will ensure nominees do not have to start from scratch after bruising primaries.
  • Political candidates are protected under a federal law that allows them to pay the lowest price available for broadcast ads. Super PACs have no such protections, meaning they typically pay much more for ads.
  • In 2022, a Republican super PAC in Nevada had to pay $150,000 for the same ad space as Democrat Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto – an extra $4,300 per second.
