Haley Stevens accepted nearly $5k in campaign contributions from Fay Beydoun who is under criminal investigation for embezzling taxpayer funds, according to a new report.
More from the Midwesterner:
The contributions raise questions about Stevens’ relationship with Beydoun, her knowledge of the grant, potential efforts to land federal support for Global Link International, and whether Stevens intends to keep Beydoun’s campaign contributions.
The Midwesterner raised those questions in an email to Stevens’ Senate campaign on Friday.
Stevens is the only current candidate for U.S. Senate that has received Beydoun’s financial support[.]

State Sen. Mallory McMorrow, D-Royal Oak, who is running against Stevens in the primary, introduced legislation in 2023 to divert corporate welfare funds from MEDC to community programs like affordable housing, public transit, and other investments[.]
“Haley Stevens took thousands from Fay Beydoun, and their relationship is far too close for comfort,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “It’s disgraceful that Stevens refuses to provide answers to Michiganders who deserve to know how deep the corruption runs.”
